Redding Dominates Red Bluff Labor Day Games Tournament

Labor Day weekend was a good one for the Missfits Soccer Club in Red Bluff. While the weather was wild - with a hot day on Saturday and 30 mph winds on Sunday - the Missfits overcame and came away with a lot of hardware!

U19 Missfits Red: Despite being down to just 11 players by the consolation game, the Red were able to take home 3rd Place. The team may be decimated by injuries, but the remaining players are playing tough and not giving an inch!

U14 Missfits Bandits: Building on their successes at the Shasta Shootout, the Missfits Bandits went undefeated on their way to 1st Place. After beating Palo Cedro Sting (4-0) and the Diablo FC (6-0), the Bandits managed a 1-1 tie with Butte United. The Bandits wrapped up play with a 5-1 victory over the Windsor Hot Steel.

U11/12 Missfits Go 2-3-4! Showing that the Missifts future is a bright one, the three youngest Missfits took 2nd, 3rd and 4th place in Red Bluff. The U11 Missfits Adrenaline and the U12 (mixed age) Missfits Havoc opened the weekend with a nail biter. While the Adrenaline ultimately came out on top 2-1 (Adrenaline's first win as a team), it was a tough game all the way. The U11 Missfits Adrenaline also got to close the weekend by playing the U12 Missfits Vandals for the second tournament in a row! If the first Adrenaline game was a nail biter, then this one was a finger chewer. While many of the Missfits Adrenaline players gave up close to a foot in height, they didn't allow themselves to be pushed around! After 50 back and forth minutes of great soccer, the game ended in a 3-3 tie!

The other games for the U11 Missfits Adrenaline were losses to Anderson and Red Bluff. The Adrenaline lead a lot of the Red Bluff game but ended up losing in the closing minutes to a wind-aided own goal!

In just their first tournament (or any games for that matter) the Missfits Havoc got their first win! A 1-0 victory over host Red Bluff closed the tournament for this first year team.

With wins over the Havoc and host Red Bluff, the Vandals are off to a strong start in 2008. Placing second for the second tournament in a row, shows the results of all the hard work these girls and coaches put in last season and over the summer!

Bandits U14 grabs third

The Redding Youth Soccer League Missfit Bandits U14 team took third over the weekend at the Folsom Cup Classic (August 3, 2008).

Multiple goals by Brook Gaddy, Cambrey Knapp, Ali Goodman and Kendall Enbody helped the Bandits go 3-1 in tournament play, losing only to the tournament champions Folsom Mustangs.
