U14 Napa Valley Wine Country Classic-Sept 4th & 5th
Missfits Adrenaline take 3rd at the U14 Napa Valley Wine Country Classic, going 3-1.
The U13 Missfits Adrenaline traveled to the Napa Valley Wine Country Classic and participated in a U14 tournament this past weekend. The Adrenaline came away with a 3-1 record and a 3rd place finish. The Adrenaline scored 9 goals and only allowing 2. the team was lead by a stellar defense (for the second tournament in a row) consisting of Karly C, Molly R, Bekah B, Ali F and Rylie P in goal!!! The Adrenaline started out the weekend by beating the Rincon Valley Strikers 4-0. Goals were scored by Taylor P (assisted by Kylie "D"), Ali F (assisted by Karly C) and 2 were scored by Kylie "D" (assisted by Elisa "E" & Lexi R). The afternoon game brought on the Roseville Soccer Rockers and again the Adrenaline came out and scored early and cruised to a 3-0 win. Goals were scored by Haley M (assisted by Kylie "D"), "Beckawitz" (assisted by Ashleigh K), and the final goal was scored by Ali F (assisted by Anna E). Sundays mornings game was a must win for both the U14 Dublin Crush and the U13 Missfits Adrenaline (winner went onto the Championship game and the losing team would play for third place). Both teams battled back and forth with both teams putting pressure on each other, it was a great game to be apart of!!! The score was tied 0 - 0 with 5 minutes to go when the Dublin Crush slotted the game winning goal past the diving Rylie P, the Adrenaline Keeper. Final score 1 - 0 Dublin Crush. That put the Adrenaline into the Consolation game against the Mustang Mavericks. The Adrenaline coaches were very concerned on how the young ladies would come out and play because they put out so much energy in the Dublin game and were "spent"!!! The coaches need not to have worried....20 seconds into the game Anna E stole the ball off the kick off and gave a great ball to a streaking Kylie D who hit a rocket shot into the back of the net!! The Adrenaline held onto the 1 - 0 lead until late in the second half when the Mustang Mavericks answered to tie it up 1 - 1. Again the coaches need not fear...the young ladies were not to be denied!!! The Adrenaline took the kick off down into the Mavericks end where Kylie "D" hit a beautiful line drive cross to a crashing Haley M who slotted the game winner with 5 minutes to go!!! Unfortunately the game winning goal came with a huge price....on that play the Keeper for the Mustangs collided with Haley M injuring Haley's knee...Haley tore the MCL and will be out to approx 1 month...ouch!! Haley is already on the road to recovery and we can't wait to get her back on the field with her Adrenaline Family!!!
Adrenaline Strikes Again! (article sent to the Redding Record Searchlight)
The Missfits Adrenaline U13 girls division 3 soccer team traveled to Napa over the Labor Day weekend. They came away with a third place finish in the Wine Country Classic U14 girls tournament. Once again, strong defensive play resulted in only two goals against the Adrenaline in the whole tournament. Midfielders, Ashleigh Kelly, Gracie Fagan, Lexi Rubin, Anna Erickson, Taylor Pinnell, Brea Carter and Sara Jorde brought the ball up to help score the 9 goals throughout the tournament. Strikers Kylie Diaz, Haley Moebes, Rebeckah Rubanowitz, Ali Franks and midfielder Taylor Pinnell completed the plays to put the ball in the net.
Santa Clara Rotary Cup Classic-Aug 22nd & 23rd
The U13 Missfits Adrenaline traveled to the 10th Annual Santa Clara Rotary Cup over the August 2nd and 23rd weekend. The Adrenaline set out to prove a couple of things....first was that the Folsom Tournament was not "Adrenaline Soccer" and second they wanted to "Avenge" their 3rd place finish at last years Rotary Cup!! Mission Accomplished!!! The Adrenaline went 4-0 scoring 8 goals and only giving up 2. The first game was against the SSJ Electric Blue Attitude (rematch of last years A-Cup Sweet 16 game). The Adrenaline scored 19 minutes in off a nice finish by Taylor P that was assisted by Elisa "E". The Adrenaline next scored 5 minutes into the second half by a well placed ball by "Beckawitz" that was crossed in by Kylie "D". The Adrenaline finished out their scoring with a nice shot by Haley M that was assisted by Anna E 3 minutes later! The Adrenaline won the game 3-1 and moved on to face the Hollister Tremors in the afternoon game. The Adrenaline came out a little flat and ended the first half with a 0-0 tie (I blame the candy...LOL!!). the adrenaline finally picked it up in the second half getting goals from Gracie F (beautiful header) off an assist from Elisa "E" and a well placed corner kick by Brea C (unassisted..upper side net!!!). With the two wins on Saturday the Adrenaline was in first place heading into the Semi-Finals Sunday morning. The Adrenaline again faced the SSJ Electric Blue team that made the Semi-Finals as the 4th seed. The Electric Blue came out with some major ATTITUDE and played a great game!!!! The Attitude was up 1 - 0 with 8 minutes remaining when Kylie "D" finally broke through her scoring drought and knotted the game up 1 -1 off an assist by "Beckawitz". The coaching staff decided that a change was needed and with 3 minutes to go switched Ali F back to center Defender and moved Karly C up to left Forward. This proved to be too much for the Electric Blue when Karly C received a great through ball from Anna E and placed it in the "upper V" for the game winning goal!!! The Adrenaline moved on to the Championship game with a 2-1 victory scoring 2 goals in the last 8 minutes of the game!!! The Championship game pitted the Adrenaline against good, physical team from El Dorado Hills, the Sapphires. The game went back and forth for most of the game with several chances from both teams to get on the board. The Adrenaline and the Sapphires played to a 0 - 0 tie well into the second half when Haley M received a ball from Molly R and hit a 1 touch shot into the upper far corner for the game winning goal with 7 minutes remaining!!! The Adrenaline were champions once again!!! The coaches were very pleased how the young ladies stepped up and started to play Adrenaline soccer and felt that the team has started to "gel" with the new additions to the team. The 3 new Missfits, Haley M, Elisa "E" and Anna E, have already made a HUGE impact this year and we are looking forward to the season to come!!!
Missfits Adrenaline wins tourney cup (from the Redding Record Searchlight newspaper)
The Missfits Adrenaline U13 girls soccer team won the 10th annual Santa Clara Rotary Cup Classic tournament with a 1-0 win over the El Dorado Hills Sapphires on Sunday.
Rylie Pinnell turned in a quality performance as goalkeeper while superb defense from Molly Ross, Bekah Boyle, Karly Chin and Ali Franks proved to be too strong for their opponents.
In the preliminary games, Taylor Pinnell, Haley Moebes and Rebeckah Rubanowitz each scored against the San Jose Electric Blue Attitude. Gracie Fagan also headed in a goal and Brea Carter scored off her corner kick against the Hollister Tremors. In semifinal play, Kylie Diaz and Karly Chin both scored in the final 8 minutes of the game to beat San Jose. The lone goal of the championship game was shot by Haley Moebes.
U14 Folsom Cup Classic-Aug 7th & 8th
The Missfits Adrenaline opened up their tournament season at the Folsom Cup Classic on August 7th and 8th. This was a U14 tournament and the "younger" U13 Adrenaline were surprised by the more physical play and bigger U14 girls. The first match was against U14 Greenhaven Elite and even though the Adrenaline were very "tentative" they held the Elite to a 0-0 half time score. The second half was more of the same until the Elite found the back of the net on a well struck shot from outside the 18 yard box. That goal proved to be the winning goal and the Adrenaline fell 1-0 in their first game of the new year. The afternoon game pitted the Adrenaline against another U14 team, Roosevelt Revolution and again the Adrenaline did just enough to keep it a 0-0 tie into half time. Four minutes into the second half the Adrenaline got on the board by a determined Anna E to put the Adrenaline up 1-0. Anna's goal was assisted by Elisa "E", two of the new players that were added to the roster this year!! Unfortunately the lead would not last as the Revolution answered back 15 minutes later with a well placed direct kick from the top of the penalty box. The Adrenaline managed a 1-1 tie and the coaching staff started to see some of the "magic" returning to their team. They played much better in the second game (and especially in the second half of the second game)! Sunday morning the Adrenaline faced a very, very good U13 Folsom Attack team. The Attack jumped out to an early lead scoring 2 goals in the first 5 minutes of the match and never looked back!! Score at half time was 5-0. The Adrenaline never gave up and continued to play hard through the final whistle! Final score Attack 5, Adrenaline 0 (talking to the coach for the Attack he informed me that this was their 30 game of the season already...compared to our 3rd!). The Attack went on to take second place losing in a PK shootout with the U14 Folsom team and the Greenhaven Elite took 3rd place winning 3-0 in the consolation game! The Adrenaline did receive the Sportsmanship Award that was voted on by the Tournament officials and ref's. This was nice because it was the second year in a row that a Redding Missfits team won the Sportsmanship Award!!! Shows that the Missfits are a class act...when they win or when they lose! The young ladies of the Adrenaline spoke with the coaches after the game and stated that they will work hard at practice and not let this tournament set the tone for the season!!!

"Elite 8"-U12 CYSA Association Cup
U12 CYSA Association Cup Jan 9th and 10th-"Elite 8"
In the 3rd round (Elite 8) of the CYSA Association Cup, the Missfits Adrenaline faced the Orangevalle NorCal Express on a wet and cold Sunday morning. The winner of the would move on to the Final Four the following weekend in Danville. The Orangevalle Express was a very good team that continually put pressure on the Adrenaline defense and scored the first two goals of the match. The Adrenaline never gave up and had several opportunities in the final minutes to tie it up but came up 1 goal short in a 2-1 loss. It was a great game to be a part of!!!! With the loss the U12 Adrenalines season came to an end...but what a year!!!
The Missfits Adrenaline traveled to Morgan Hill for the second round of the CYSA Association Cup were the Adrenaline faced off against the San Jose Electric Blue Attitude. The Adrenaline started out slow (they were very nervous) but finally found their "groove" and pulled out a 5-0 victory to move on to the "Elite 8" were they were to meet the Orangevalle NorCal Express.
The Missfits Adrenaline went 3-0 in the first round of the CYSA Association Cup scoring 7 goals and only allowing 1 to move on to the Sweet 16 in Morgan Hill.

Missfits Adrenaline U12 wins District 9 title
The Redding Missfits U12 girls soccer team won the District 9 title over the weekend at Redding Soccer Park, the team's third tournament title this season.
Eleven different girls scored the 18 goals throughout the tournament. They were Kylie Diaz (2), Sara Jorde, Kili Franks (4), Rebeckah Rubanowitz, Ali Franks (3), Dana Marchand, Molly Ross (2), Lexi Rubin, Taylor Pinnell, Brea Carter and Rylie Pinnell. The team beat A-C United 4-0, beat the Redding Missfits Fusion 7-0 and the Red Bluff Blast Shockers 7-1.
Rylie Pinnell was an asset to the Adrenaline team in goal, and was aided by defenders Gracie Fagan, Ashleigh Kelley and Karly Chin. The team allowed just one goal.
Shasta Halloween Shootout (October 24th & 25th)-1st Place
The Redding Missfits Adrenaline win the Shasta Halloween Classic going 4-0!!!!

Benicia Fall Classic (Sept. 26 & 27 2009)-2nd Place
Redding Missfits Adrenaline take Second Place in the Benicia Fall Classic!!!
The Missfits Adrenaline U12 Girls Soccer team allowed only one goal during the Benicia Fall Classic and outscored their opponents 11-1. Unfortunately the one goal that was allowed was in the Championship game against the Petuluma Blast. The Adrenaline opened up the weekend beating the River City Chaos 5-0 with a stellar offensive and defensive effort. The second game on Saturday was against the Walnut Creek Blast and the Adrenaline came out on top again defeating the Blast 4-0!!! Sunday brought the Adrenaline up against a very good Mustang Stampede team with the winner of the game moving on to the Championship game. The Adrenaline played well and came out on top 2-0. The Championship game was a back and forth battle with Petuluma coming out on top 1-0. Both teams played well and it was a great game to be a part of!!! The coaches were very proud of the effort that the young ladies gave all weekend with 4 players being out with the flu they all came together and played really well as a team!!!
Red Bluff Labor Day Games (Sept 5-6 2009)-1st Place
Redding Adrenaline takes First Place in Red Bluff!!
The Missfits Adrenaline U 12 girls soccer team competed in the Red Bluff Labor Day Games tournament over the weekend. They played well as a team outscoring their opponents 13-1 and brought home first place trophies. Game one was against the Missfits Fusion. The Adrenaline came out on top with a score of 5-0. The second game, against AC United ended in the only loss for the Adrenaline when an unfortunate penalty kick was the only goal of the game and in fact was the only goal that was scored against the Adrenaline all weekend!! The Adrenaline then faced off against the Red Bluff Blast Shockers for their third game and won with a score of 5-0. The Adrenaline then got another shot against AC United in the championship game and this time the Adrenaline showed their skills and won the game with a score of 3-0. The coaches and players alike were pleased with the outcome of the tournament. Tournament directors praised the Adrenaline for their good sportsmanship.
